Do you sometimes feel like you have a million things to do in a day, you try to start but get analysis paralysis and don’t know which task to even begin with? You get so caught up in trying to decide which to take action on that you are frazzled before the day has even really started. You want to focus on those big dreams you have and wish you had a tool to help keep you organized. I can’t wait to show you how The Daily Planner for Creatives can help!
I am a huge lover of ordering a paper planner at the beginning of the year. It’s like a romantic relationship, I get obsessed… the gorgeous prints and gold accents, I want to run away to the french country side with my planner in hand. However, like romantic relationships of the past with boyfriend Dave or Josh, the spark dies down after a while. The details, the real nuts and bolts just don’t work for me. I can’t seem to stick to filling out my months and days in any planner I choose. Maybe it’s because you have to find the month each time you open it and then the day. Then i have to create my own structure on the page to make it actually work for me. Heaven forbid, I have to actually stick to doing that every single day. There has to be another way.
SIMPLE IS BEST: DAILY SUCCESS
2020 was the year that taught us how to stay still. This is the year that I dedicated to “plan for peace.” That’s my phrase of the year, and I NEEDED a tool to help me plan, plan for days that are full of peace and not anxiety.
So, I decided to create something for myself. A daily planner for creatives. It had to be simple, something I would love using every single day. Something that would structure my day and I would finish the day feeling energized and accomplished.
Simple is my love language so I decided to create a one-pager daily planner for creatives. I use card stock paper that I could print every day and move around the house with me with ease.
I knew if I did these actions my dreams would be right there waiting for me. CLICK HERE to grab the Daily Planner for Creatives!
HOW TO USE THE DAILY PLANNER
Here’s how to use the one pager:
- Date: Write the date in the top right hand corner, you won’t need to be constantly trying to remember what the date is throughout the day!
- Word/Phrase of the year: Choose a word or phrase for the year and write it down every day, it’s your intent for the year. Mine is “plan for peace.”
- 10 goals as if they’ve already happened. Decide on 10 goals that you will write down every single day, these are things that when you envision your life in 10 years, you have them. I’ve done this practice for a few years now and my goals have become more simple. For example, one of my goals is, “I feel energized,” and ”I have confident children.” Make some of these goal around how you desire to feel. Notice how I wrote my goal in present tense, “I feel energized,” not “I will feel energized.” You’ll attain the goal so much faster this way!
- Big Three: Write down three things that are the most important things to achieve today. These are things that you know push you towards your long term goals. For me, at least one of these items is always creation based. What can I create within my business that’s moving the bar. Check these off as you accomplish them throughout the day.
- Checklist: Next is my mental & physical health checklist. If I feel energized, and confident I am the best version of myself and I’m poised to accomplish great things. Drink the water! My goal is half my body weight in ounces. Move your body. Get outside, feel the sunlight and/or breath in the fresh air. Breath, get 50 cleansing breaths in. Gratitude, name ten things that you are grateful for that happened within the day. Create your own items on the checklist as well!
- Notes: Finally, you have room to write down notes throughout the day!
WHEN TO YOU USE THE DAILY PLANNER
Remember to print a sheet for every single day. I love printing on card stock, get some at your local craft store! If you need more ideas on how to structure your big three, I’ve found so much relieve in batching my work. Here’s a post where I explain how to batch work as a creative entrepreneur.
DO THE ACTIONS AND YOUR DREAMS WILL BE RIGHT THERE WAITING FOR YOU!
